Converse
Created as a rubber shoe manufacturer in 1908, Converse’s transition into the Chuck Taylor silhouette it’s most known for today originated in semi-professional basketball, eventually working its way up to the US’ Olympic team uniform. Mid-way through the 20th century, the brand’s signature had occupied over 80% of the basketball sneaker market, also becoming a go-to for the United States military. Converse’s high acclaim continued through the world’s biggest celebrities, eventually followed up with new “Pro-Leather” and “One-Star” models. Now, more recent collaborations with Comme Des Garcons and Rick Owens define a new generation of Converse lovers, pushing the box further than their predecessors could ever imagine.
