On December 4th, 2024, LIKELHOOD announced the closing of their Capitol Hill location on Instagram. “END OF AN ERA,” the announcement graphic reads, along with a heartfelt letter from the owners, Aaron Delguzzo and Daniel Carlson,
“It’s the end of an era. After almost 10 years LIKELIHOOD will be closing the Capitol Hill store permanently. The last day will be Saturday, December 7th. Our hearts are full with the memories we created together in the store. We laughed, we sang, we screamed for joy and we had a lot of fun. All in-store activations and activities will now be at our SLU location exclusively. All In-store pick-ups will be moved to SLU too.”
Seattle locals showed their support of the decision by sharing memories and heartfelt messages in the comments section of the post.
“Your CH shop changed the way I looked at sneaker culture. So curated and yet really approachable. An incredible offering beyond what was expected or trending. Congrats on the many years in CH, from your fan in Portland!!” user @kimi.ko__ writes.
“I’m going to cryy, this store legit helped start my career here in New York,” user @pradapauu comments.
It’s the end of an era for Capitol Hill, but LIKELIHOOD’s legacy will continue in the neighborhood for years to come. The South Lake Union location will continue the boutique’s goals of creating a space that sneaker and fashion enthusiasts can turn to. Delguzzo and Carlson hope that LIKELIHOOD can continue to grow and foster community in SLU, only about 10 minutes west of the now closed store.
